Seriously, how can I sell my car without a hassle?
I’m 18 years old and I need to know how can I sell my car for free. My aunt just gave me her Honda Accord and it is nicer than the one I bought when I got my license. Lucky for me, she gave it to me, so the money that I gain from selling my car will be able to go towards college next year. So how can I sell my car on a time schedule?
What to do?
I worked hard at the ice cream shop after school in order to buy myself my first vehicle, and that is something I’m proud of accomplishing on my own. My little Toyota has been good to me and I have felt a pride in ownership that only comes from enjoying the spoils of hard work.
So I’m a little sad to be selling it, however college is expensive and every penny will help me to get a good education. Hopefully that education will enable me to buy any car I want to eventually.
Until that time comes, I need to know how I can sell my car right now. Usually I’d ask my dad that, but he is away on business right now and this is something that I don’t want to wait for.
Who to ask?
I started asking my friends at school, even though they are all my age so they have less experience in the buying and selling vehicle department than an adult would. Most of them told me to use the Auto Trader. But I remember my father telling me once that he had a really bad experience with a potential buyer he connected with through the Trader. This made me wary.At lunch time I realized that the kids at school were not the appropriate ones to ask.So I started asking my teachers, a much smarter route to take. By my last class of the day I had my answer. One of my teachers gave me the name of an online service he had used that he really liked.
My teachers advice
He told me that if I wanted to know how to sell my car, he had a great story for me. I had to listen to the whole thing, but he let me use his computer to check their website out afterwards.
