Where do I sell my car quickly?
Most of us have been there, in that place that forces us to take fast action with major decisions. Although it happens, we are never fully prepared for it when it does. My sister just had twins and she lives across the country from me in New York City. My job allows me some freedom, so when she called frantic for help I told her I’d come to her rescue. However, my first order of business was to find out where to sell my car because I wouldn’t be needing it in New York.
Plus I could use the extra money.
Asking around
I started by asking around my neighborhood. I’ve been married to my work for the past seven years so I didn’t have a husband to fall back on when it came to car issues.
First I asked my neighbor where to sell my car, he is always buying old cars and refurbishing them to sell. Unfortunately he usually sold to enthusiasts within his online communities who were searching for the models he had refurbished. He was no help.
So I went down the block, asking everyone I saw if they knew where to sell my car. Finally I lucked upon this sweet little old lady who didn’t even wait for me to ask, she simply offered me information.
The ladies advice
It came as a shock to me that this sweet little lady was able to give me better advice than all of the men on my block combined. She is quite a character.
She told me that her granddaughter had recently helped her sell her own car and that she had gotten such a feeling of empowerment doing it herself. I was listening.
She then went on to tell me about some of the handy online services out there. Services that would buy a used car for free. Upon hearing more I decided that this is where to sell my car.
In attempt to be respectful for the great advice I stayed to listen to her story about how her 13 year old granddaughter had not only shown her where to go, but had been a large part in ensuring that she got a great cash price on her car.
Needless to say I was itching to get home and get online to find the service she recommended, I was ready to get started so I could get to my sister.
The results
In the end, that sweet little lady gave me the best advice I’ve ever gotten about where to sell my car. I was able to sell it quickly, on my watch and for a really fair cash price that I wouldn’t have gotten had I attempted to sell it another way.
